Location of Crystal City & Pentagon City:
Roughly speaking, Crystal City is that part of Arlington east of Route 1/Jefferson Davis Highway. On the south Crystal City is bordered by Four Mile Run and the new commercial development of National Gateway at Potomac Yards. Pentagon City is bordered on the west by Army Navy Drive, on the north by I-395, on the east by Route 1/Jefferson Davis Highway, and on the south by S. 15th Street and Arlington Ridge Road.

As of July 21, 2010, over the past 30 days seven homes sold, ranging from an efficiency/studio (The Cavendish condo) for $160,000 to a 2 bed unit (The Eclipse condo) for $580,000. Ten homes were under contract, ranging from a 1 bed unit (Horizon House condo) listed for $245,000 to another 2 bed unit (The Bella Vista condo) listed for $469,000. As of July 21, 2010, 33 homes were for sale, ranging from a jr.-1 bed unit (Horizon House condo) listed for $215,999 to a 5 bed unit (Bella Vista condo) listed for approx. $1.9 million. Notes on Crystal City & Pentagon City:
Crystal City is known locally as the high-rises that one sees when landing or taking off at National Airport. It's a long and narrow neighborhood that runs along the east side of Rte. 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) in south Arlington. The homes here are essentially condominiums in high-rises, some of which have huge penthouses with breathtaking views of our nation's capital. There is also new construction just south of Crystal City to the border with Alexandria, just about at the intersection of Glebe Road and Rte. 1, called National Gateway at Potomac Yards. The Eclipse condo is there along with a brand new Harris Teeter grocery store. There will also be a major new recreational park installed at the northern end of the neighborhood within the next several years. Crystal City has its own Metro subway stop, which is only one stop away from the airport and 2 stops away from Washington, D.C. There's also a stop for the Virginia Railway Express (VRE). Crystal City is a commuter's dream.
One of the unique attractions of living in Crystal City is the underground shopping arcade that runs the length of the neighborhood and links directly to the Metro stop. Here you'll find a number of restaurants and specialty shops as well as a Safeway grocery store. The latest retail development at Crystal City has involved opening restaurants and stores at street level. There are also any number of well-known hotels here, making it popular with business as well as casual travelers.
The amount of change that has come to the Pentagon City area in the past ten years has been amazing. A large amount of shopping, restaurants, and services have been added as well as new rental properties. Harris Teeter and Costco are the major grocery stores here, along with any number of specialty shops and restaurants. The majority of housing in Pentagon City are mid-rise condos (e.g., The Cavendish, Horizon House, The Representative, and Ridge House), but there a few townhouse condos as well.
Pentagon City is served by the Pentagon City Metro station as well as Metrobus. National Airport is a 5 minute drive. The George Washington Parkway, I-395, Washington Boulevard, Rte. 1 /Jefferson Davis Highway, and Rte. 110 are all within a 5 minute drive of Pentagon City & Crystal City.
